Synonymous with Holistic Systems Engineering: Krones at Gulfood Manufacturing

For machines, lines and complete factories – Krones, the one-stop shop

The Krones Group, headquartered in Neutraubling, Germany, plans, develops and manufactures machines and complete lines for the fields of process, filling and packaging technology. Its product portfolio is rounded off by information technology, factory planning and products from Krones’ subsidiaries as intralogistics, valve production etc. Every day, millions of bottles, cans, and special-shaped containers are handled on lines from Krones, particularly in breweries, the soft-drinks sector and at producers of still or sparkling wines and spirits, but also in the food and luxury-goods industries, plus the chemical, cosmetics and pharmaceutical sectors. Since being founded in 1951, Krones has become far more than a traditional-style machinery and line manufacturer: it has evolved into an all-round vendor for its clients. Mechanical engineering, line expertise, process engineering, microbiology and information technology have here been harmoniously integrated for optimum synergies. Nowadays, Krones is synonymous with holistic systems engineering – And Integrated Packaging Systems IPS is the link between Krones and the Arabian region. For 25 years Krones and IPS run business in the Arabian countries, as in 1990 the first Krones line was sold to Saudi-Arabia. Since the first delivery, the relations with our Arab customers have grown and intensified. But also our customers’ needs involved have grown and in some cases changed.

At Gulfood Manufacturing IPS and Krones will not just present their knowledge of overall solutions for the filling, packaging and process technology for the water, carbonated soft drinks, juice and milk industry. Visitors will experience, why Krones and IPS are the one-stop-shop for customers – including not just for the high-performance machines, but also for the low output, for digital solutions and small components. Because they also make the difference when it comes to an efficient and reliable production.
That’s why Kosme will be part of the Krones’ and IPS booth: Kosme’s corporate philosophy focuses on machines and complete lines in the medium and low output ranges, designed for optimised efficiency and user-friendly operation. Besides Kosme, ecomac is also part at the Gulfood Manufacturing. Ecomac offers pre-owned machines and even performs general overhauls on them.

But one important aspect to keep your line running, independently from the output per hour, are the right utilities. KIC Krones offers all kinds of disinfectants, lubricants and also glue for labelling. With their products, they enable a constant and hygienic production with a perfect look of customer’s labels at the end.

Next to KIC Krones, the experts from Syskron, the Krones innovation incubator for up-to-the-future digitalisation solutions are attending the Gulfood Manufacturing. The youthful start-up will be showcasing the visions and solutions it can provide for the digital beverage factory of the future. Such as an intelligent valve: Together with Evoguard, Syskron launched a development project, aimed at “Designing components in connection with Industry 4.0”: in future, a component in the valve, such as the seal, will be designed to continuously collect data on its condition and, in line with a predictive maintenance approach, can signal when a replacement will be required – before a failure actually occurs. Besides that, Evoguard will of course showcase its portfolio of different valve types – each assembled for all kind of applications.

HST Maschinenbau GmbH will show its most powerful high-pressure homogenizer: The HL6-250K homogenizer exhibited handles up to 27,000 litres per hour at 250 bar and is particularly well suited for increasing the physical stability of UHT milk, milk-based mixed drinks, UHT desserts and fruit juices.

Speaking of milk: as it’s a sensitive raw material milk requires specialised knowledge and experience for turning it into high-quality products. It’s precisely this expertise that’s incorporated in Milkron. Because there are genuine sectoral insiders working there, some of whom have already spent more than twenty years in the dairy industry. An advantage that of course pays off: milk-processing companies can thus be certain of having authentic specialists at their side, who contribute to every project their comprehensive competence and long years of experience.

But it wouldn’t be a one-stop-shop if Krones and IPS would not have any solution for intralogistics. Within the Krones Group, System Logistics is the supplier of innovative solutions for intralogistics, material flow technology, and warehousing. The company develops almost all system solutions itself, including the software, so that the entire process know-how is anchored inside the firm. The product portfolio of System Logistics includes also automated storage and retrieval systems including stacker cranes, mini-loads, material handling systems as well as automated guided vehicles.
